Michael Levi is the David Rubenstein senior fellow for energy and environment at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). He is director of the CFR program on energy security and climate change, and wa project director for the CFR-sponsored Independent Task Force on climate change.

Dr. Levi was previously a non-resident science fellow and a science and technology fellow in foreign policy studies at the Brookings Institution. Prior to that, he was Director of the Federation of American Scientists' Strategic Security Project.

Dr. Levi holds a PhD in war studies from University of London (King's College), where he was the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council's William E. Taylor fellow, and an MA in physics from Princeton University. He got a BsC (Hons.) in mathematical physics from Queens University (Kingston).


Accomplishments
Publication:

He is the author of the book On Nuclear Terrorism (2007), coauthor with Michael O'Hanlon of The Future of Arms Control (2005). His monograph with Muchael D'Arcy, Untapped Potential: U.S. Science and Technology Cooperation with the Islamic World (2005) was the first comprehensive study of science and technology in the Muslim world.

Many of his essays have been published in Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, Nature, Scientific American, Slate, and the New Republic, and his op-eds have appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and Financial Times.
