Organization Details

Leadership Africa USA is incorporated as a non-profit, tax-exempt 501 (C) (3) non-governmental organization. Leadership Africa USA’s mandate is to develop youth leadership curricula and provide skills training to Africa’s youth.

Leadership Africa USA works closely with Ministries, government officials, community leaders, local NGOs, private sector actors, parents, teachers and students (local partners) in various African nations to promote and implement programs that provide quality leadership education and training for youth in Africa and the Diaspora.

  • Over 14,000 middle school students in Senegal’s Casamance region have received leadership training;
  • Development, implementation, and distribution of 102,000 copies of the first leadership training curriculum and teachers’ manual for over 250,000 middle school students in other regions of Senegal;
  • More than 200 community leaders, members, and organizations participated in the Leadership Summit for Peace stakeholders;
  • 50 middle school principals and teachers trained to deliver the leadership curriculum;
  • Implemented leadership training workshop, Youth Leadership in Conflict Resolution, Peace Building, and Governance, involving more than 300 high school students from 40 schools in Liberia;
  • Implemented leadership training workshop, Leadership: The Key to the Development of a Nation, impacting more than 100 high school students in Nigeria;
  • Africa’s Youth Define Leadership—collection of essays from more than 9 young African university students from nine African countries (Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, and Tanzania)—over 3,000 copies distributed in Africa and in the United States.
