N. Frank Ukadike earned a Ph.D. in Cinema Studies from New York University in 1989. Today he is Associate Professor of Film and African Diaspora Studies at Tulane University in New Orleans. He is the author of Black African Cinema and Questioning African Cinema: Conversations With Filmmakers.
He is the author of Black African Cinema (1994). Professor Ukadike was recently awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship to conduct research for his new book project The New African Cinema: The History, Narratology and Aesthetics of African Films of the 1990’s.
