Momo comes from the traditional African family. As a little boy, he did not know his real parents. He lived with his grandmother in a village somewhere in Lofa. After the death of his grandmother, he decided to begin his education in an effort to succeed in life. However, due to the civil crisis in Liberia, he fled with many others to neighboring Sierra Leone for refuge.

When the civil war subsided, Momo returned to Liberia and continued his education.
