Description of Work:
After serving as Ambassador to China, Korea and Vietnam since 1999, Ipinge was appointed to his current diplomatic position to the United States in March of 2005. Prior to his ambassadorships, Ipinge was the Deputy Secretary in the Namibian Ministry of Defense (1995-1999) and served on the 1997 Panel of Government Experts on Small Arms Proliferation, which issued a report to the secretary-general of the UN for complete disarmament of small arms (1996-98) Other positions include his role as CEO of the Omusati Regional Counsel (1993-95) and Senior Staff Officer for the Directorate of Policy and Operations in the Ministry of Defense (1990-92).

Place of Origin: Namibia
Ipinge studied at Washington International University in Pennsylvania where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration. He also holds a master’s degree in diplomatic studies from Keele University in the United Kingdom.

He speaks English, Oshiwambo and Afrikaans as well as being able to understand Portuguese.

He and his wife have three children.
