Description of Work:
My name is Erin Mycroft and I'm from South Africa. Along with 29 other Global Teen Leaders (GTLs) from all over the world, I attended the Just Peace Summit in New York, which has been a life-changing experience.
I left my home in Cape Town not sure what to expect, but when I arrived and met everyone who had been working on the summit for years and the other GTLs, everything seemed to fall into place. I have never been in an environment where every second is filled with dynamic, loving and caring people. We spent the week learning how to spread our messages of peace.  Although there were intense workshops, it meant we all spent an intense amount of time together, working towards our goals and getting to know each other. The skills I have learnt have now given me confidence in myself and my project, which is The Chaeli Campaign, a non-profit organization which mobilizes the minds and bodies of differently abled children in South Africa by providing assistive devices, therapies and running advocacy programs. I have met 29 teens from around the world and built invaluable friendships with them, which I am confident will grow and only get stronger over the years to come.

We now have the tools we need to make ourselves heard in a world so full of distractions, unfairness and injustice. I am eternally grateful to Three Dot Dash and We Are Family Foundation for all their hard work and determination in making this summit a possibility and bringing the youth of today together to form one global family working together for peace.
