Organization Details
OSSREA, based in Addis Ababa, is a regional research network established in 1980 by a group of social scientists from eastern Africa. Through its regular program funding the research of junior and senior scholars, it aims to build an African tradition of social science research and promote the interface between academic and policy research. It also runs and coordinates a number of specialized research projects involving researchers from the sub-region and outside. It publishes a biannual journal, Eastern African Social Science Research Review and a triennial newsletter as well as books and monographs. It has currently thirteen chapters in the sub-region.
