Organization Details
The Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) was established in 1973 as a pan-African social science research organization. It supports research with a continental perspective and also actively encourages cooperation and collaboration among African universities, research organizations, and other training institutions. CODESRIA is also a major publisher of African scholarship in English, French, Arabic, and soon in Portuguese in several journals, a Bulletin, book series, monographs and working papers. It also sponsors multinational working groups on regional integration, gender, and urbanization in addition to numerous other research projects.
