Emmanuel Koné is an Ivorian football player loaned to Internaţional in Liga I from CFR Cluj.

He was transferred from Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas in the January transfer window of season 2007-2008. He featured in several champions league matches but lately he has since been playing for reserve squad CFR II Cluj.

Ivory Coast boss Sven Goran Eriksson will quickly appreciate the qualities Kone brings to this squad, with his solid contribution in seven 2010 World Cup qualifiers confirming he is a valuable member of the set-up.

He has been out on loan with Romanian side International this season after falling out of favour with CFR Cluj, after initially playing his part in helping the underdogs claim domestic success and then some unlikely triumphs in the Champions League. A goal scoring midfielder, he is dreaming of glory in South Africa this summer.

"We felt the emotion around this Ivory Coast squad at the African Cup of Nations as everyone expects so much from us," he says. "Well, we are ready to deliver this time and there is no room for excuses. Everyone needs to come together in this squad because we can only win as a team."
