Fidel Lumeya is an associate director for international emergency response at Church World Service in Washington, DC.
Fidele has extensive experience working on relief and development for the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC).
He worked for MCC for three years in Bukavu, in the eastern DRC, and then was seconded to UNHCR-Swaziland (1999).Fidele was Co-Country Representative for MCC in Angola from 2001 to 2003.In addition, Fidele has worked extensively on peace building and ecumenical work with churches throughout eastern and southern Africa.
He grew up in the Democratic Republic of the Congo .
He has a Masters Degree in Conflict Transformation from the Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
