At 15 Sameul Eto'o made his senior national team debut in March 1996. In 1998 he played for Cameroon in the World Cup and was the youngest player to see action in a match aganist Italy. He broke out as a star player in 2000 at the Africa Cup of Nations scoring in 4 of Cameroons 6 matches. Eto'o scored one goal in the final olympic match at the Sydney games aganist Spain where Cameroon went on to win gold. There are high hopes he will help his team advance in the Beijing games.
