Organization Details
Citizens for a Better Environment is working to save the severely polluted Kafue River, which supports 80% of Zambian industries and is a source of drinking water for a million people. The week before Earth Day 2000, CBE, with the Environmental Council of Zambia, secured commitments by 67 companies that surround the river to operate according to the country's Environmental Protection and Pollution Control Act.
