Tropical Forest Network (T.F.N.) aims at sustainable forestry and environmental management. Since inception, T.F.N. has been able to effectively reach the Grassroots and has involved grassroots communities in various forestry/ environmental programmes. Internationally, T.F.N. has contributed in many summits and special conferences on forestry/environmental issues. The objective of the T.F.N is to create and increase the public awareness and participation on sustainable forestry/environmental management. This is necessary as deforestation continues to grow at an alarming rate in the country. Part of the TFN programme therefore includes educating rural communities on the adverse effects of unbridled deforestation and disregard for the environment on the flora and fauna Nigeria. T.F.N. therefore employs research, outreach, advocacy, conferences and seminars to pass on the message of sustainable forestry and environmental management.
