Masai Mara is the world-famous Kenyan national park, where visitors will see buffalo, lions, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs and elephants. Located on Kenya's southern border, Masai Mara borders Tanzania's Serengeti, forming what seems to be an endless reserve of the world's greatest wildlife and most stunning scenery.

Visitors to Masai Mara have several options for safaris. Tour companies operating out of Nairobi will arrange all-inclusive trips, including transportation to the park (which is about 6 hours from Nairobi by road.) There are camp sites and hotels to choose from, depending on your budget and your desired experience (Note: Hotels, while more expensive, are also more secure. Camp sites may be vulnerable to robberies due to poor security and isolation from other settlements. Please arrange lodging carefully and be advised that even the best and most reputable tour companies may not be able to provide adequate security at camp sites.)

Visitors can arrange trips of varying length, depending on budgets and amount of time they have available. Regardless of the length of your stay, make sure your program includes morning, evening and full-day excursions in order to see the greatest diversity of animals.
