The National Museum is a relatively new treasure of Niamey and a source of national pride. The exhibits include displays of traditional costumes and customs. There is an artisan center where visitors can learn about traditional arts and purchase goods, including the silver croix d'Agadez, a tourist favorite. Some of the most notable displays include the last tree of the Sahara (l'Arbre du Tenere) and dinosaur bones, which were recently excavated and relocated within Niger. Tickets are under $2 and there is a small fee for cameras.
