This is the view of the main entrance to the medina, close to the Porte de France.  Children often play in these fountains and there are many excellent restaurants in the area.  Once one enters the medina, the conditions can become very cramped and the atmosphere is instantly charged with the surrounding (often noisy) activity.  --Beth Guthrie
