The Hassan II Mosque was recently completed in 1993 and is a must-see in Casablanca.  It holds two records, as the only mosque to be built so close to an ocean, and as the world's third largest religious monument.  The scale of this structure is immense and can be seen from far-off points in the city.  Tourists can visit and tour the mosque for a fee.  --Beth Guthrie
